On its eastern side, the territory borders on Slovenian Republic. The place names of Plessiva (Plešivo), Novali (Novalije) e Zegla (Ceglo) reflect the Slovenian origin of this area. Near Plessiva there is a big hilly area with many vineyards, from which some Collio (see map) vintage wines are obtained. . |

The northern borderline of Cormons territory is drawn by Judrio (anim.) river which divides the city from the province of Udine. Near the river you can find Brazzano a hamlet dominated by S. Giorgio(see photo)hill. On the top, there's a church (see photo) with the same name. On the external wall there is a Roman (see photo) fragment dated back to III century, while inside (see photo) there is a precious wooden altar (see photo) dated back to XVI century. Not so far there is the ancient village named Giassico that is recognizable by the houses gathered around the little church (see photo). |

Our guided tour to the hamlets ends with Borgnano, that keeps in its urban structure some topographic traces of a vast XIX century estate. Nowadays the abandoned paths, joining Angoris and Monticello to the village, are still visible across the country. Behind Borgnano the borderline includes part of Medea's hill. After a nice trip in the surrounding areas, in a quiet scenario with the
Alps in the backgrounds, when the day ends
the night follows... The trip goes on through the Nature. |
